Fay & Bowen 100th Anniversary Celebration--
July 21-24, 2004.
2004 is the 100th Anniversary Year of the Fay & Bowen Engine Company in Geneva,
NY. This summer, over the weekend of July 21-24, there will be a series of
special events commemorating that milestone at the site of the original Fay &
Bowen boat and engine plant on Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes area of Upstate
New York. Fay & Bowen owners are encouraged to take their boats to this
memorable event which is expected to produce the largest congregation of Fay &
Bowen boats ever assembled in one location.
The Finger Lakes Boating Museum, headquartered in Penn Yan, NY, is spearheading the organization of the commemoration with support from the Wine Country and Finger Lakes Chapters of ACBS. The City of Geneva and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce are also backing the effort by providing broad coverage and promotion of the event which will include displays, day cruises, excursions, tours and a closing banquet.
All Fay & Bowen owners listed in the 2003 ACBS Membership Directory have been contacted about the celebration, and any other Fay & Bowen owners are encouraged to participate also. All restored and unrestored Fay & Bowen boats are welcome.
