Spring is finally arriving. Time to finish the major boat
repairs and think ahead to your boating schedule. If you have not yet
noticed, the format for our Calendar of Events was changed. If this is the
first time this year your chapter is submitting events for the Rudder,
PLEASE be sure to use the new submission form. The form can be mailed or
faxed to Chris Eden in Seattle. The Calendar of Events is important to our
members. As they are traveling this summer and fall many often detour or
change their schedules to visit neighboring boating events.
Another directory has been sent to print. The 2004 edition
should be arriving at your homes shortly. Thank you to Tab Miller for all
his hard work and for keeping us on schedule. If you review your personal
data in the directory and find that changes are already in store, please
call us at Headquarters and help us keep our records current. Moving to your
summer address? Give us a call to confirm the dates for change of mailings.
We are using bulk mail more frequently and they will not be forwarded.
Our summer meeting is being held at Lake Hopatcong, New
Jersey, in conjunction with that chapter’s 30th Boat Show. Mark your
calendar for June 25-27. Further details available from HQ or the Chapter
Contact, Joan Greene. Lots of boating is on the schedule and great events,
too.
Annual Meeting and Boat Show registration forms were
mailed in February. If you have lost yours or did not receive one, please
check online at www.acbs.org or call
Headquarters for another. Please sign up early! Several events have limited
availability and are already filling up. Specific questions can be directed
to Bob Bush and Tom O’Rourke, committee chairs.
Best-preserved awards will be available from Headquarters
shortly. Please note: in order for this award program to be a success we
need to have the chapters return the recipient information form provided
with the award.
We are already receiving orders from Chapters for Ships
Stores consignment sales for chapter boat show. This is a great program and
an opportunity to provide some diversion at your event. Call us at
Headquarters for listings of items available to your chapter.
See you on the water,
Kathy and Deb
