Headquarters spent a busy winter working on renewals and the 2002 directory. Tab Miller assures us the directory is well under way and should be arriving in your homes as you read this. The current directory went to print with over 6200 members; that’s an increase of almost 400 over last year. International memberships for 2002 currently exceed 6400.

We currently have four chapters whose memberships have exceeded 400. They are: Sunnyland, Michigan, Bob Speltz Land-O-Lakes and the Northern Cal/Lake Tahoe Chapter. The Officers and directors of these chapters have worked hard on offering events, newsletters, and personal contact that keep renewals consistent and bring in new members every year. The key to success, they all agree, is to provide fun and good communication.

The international quarterly summer meeting is in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario June 21-23, and our Annual Meeting and Boat Show is in Coeur d’Alene, ID Sept 19-22. The meetings and events are open to all ACBS members and the weekends are fun and entertaining. If you are interested in attending and need more information, contact headquarters.
Ongoing projects at Headquarters include:

The Hickman raffle, a $5.00 donation per ticket to benefit the Scholarship Endowment fund. Available from Headquarters or, if your chapter would like to sell them at an event, we have posters and a supply we can mail to you. The drawing is at the 2002 Annual Meeting in Coeur d’Alene, September 21st.

Ship Store orders for chapter consignments are already arriving at Headquarters. Occasionally we will special order a specific item for your show that is not on our inventory list. Let us know! If your chapter has never had a Ships Store, contact Don Babcock for details.
Registration forms for the International Meeting and Boat Show in Coeur d’Alene were direct-mailed the first week in March. They are already arriving back to headquarters at a good pace. There is limited space available at the boat show, and entries are accepted on a first come basis. Please be sure to register early. Also, late registrations are at additional costs. If you need any forms they are available on our web site www.acbs.org or by calling headquarters.
